ABOUT US

The Fitness Centre at the Amherst Firefighters Association was renovated in 2022. This gym is for our firefighters and their families to use on a daily basis and they can access it 24/7, 365.

We couldn’t have made this happen without the support of our Nova Scotia Firefighters 50/50 and all of our Amherst Firefighters supporters. When you choose to support the Amherst Firefighters, it goes to projects like this, which in return helps us to better serve Amherst and the surrounding community.

While planning to renovate our fitness facility, the Shinimicas Fire Dept. lost their station to a fire, so we approached them to see if they were interested in receiving our previous equipment as a donation instead of us selling it outside of the fire service, and they were happy to accept it for their newly built station!
